Pranav Mohanlal trained in surfing for one month before starting shooting for Irupathiyonnaam Noottaandu
Pranav Mohanlal is currently busy with the shoot of his upcoming movie, Irupathiyonnaam Noottaandu. The movie is being written and directed by Arun Gopy of ‘Ramaleela’ fame. We were among the first to report that Pranav is playing the role of a surfer in the movie. In a recent interview, the director confirmed the same. Prior to the shoot, Pranav had gone to Bali to take basic training in surfing.
Since Pranav is used to doing gymnastics, skydiving and rock climbing, he has a fluid and flexible body language. For his debut movie Aadhi, Pranav had trained in Parkour, a form of acrobatic physical training that involves crossing obstacles by running, climbing, jumping, rolling and swinging. His agility and flexibility were on show with the Parkour stunts he performed in Aadhi.
Pranav is already proving to be an actor who is willing to put that extra yard of physical effort if the movie demands it. Arun Gopy is thoroughly pleased with Pranav’s commitment. The makers of Irupathiyonnaam Noottaandu have roped in Peter Hein for action choreography. So, we can expect to see some never-before-seen kind of gripping surfing sequences. Next month, the team will be flying to Cape Town, South Africa to shoot the surfing portions. Goa, Pala, Kanjirapally and Hyderabad are the other major locations.
Irupathiyonnaam Noottaandu is said to be a travel based romantic flick. A newcomer has been signed to play Pranav’s romantic interest. Kalabhavan Shajon, Manoj K Jayan, Shaju Sreedhar, Dharmajan and Suresh Kumar will be seen in supporting roles.
In the technical front, Gopi Sunder will be handling the music department. Abinandan Ramanjunam, well known for his excellent work in Amen and Mosayile Kuthira Meenukal, is cranking the camera. National award winning editor Vivek Harshan, sound designer Renganaath Ravee and art director Joseph Nellickal are also part of the team. Tomichan Mulakupadam is producing the movie under his banner Mulakupadam Films.
