For the last few days, Malayali social media forums are abuzz with posts about Aadhi, the debut movie of Pranav Mohanlal as a lead actor. The movie was released last Friday, Republic Day, and opened to stupendous response from the audience. Critics as well as the commoners have lapped up the movie, which is right on track to become a huge blockbuster.
Industry insiders have all heaped praise on Pranav and his performance in Aadhi. Promising young filmmaker Arun Gopy, who made a highly impressive debut last year with Dileep’s Ramaleela, called the movie as a mesmerizing experience. In his Facebook page, Arun Gopy has written,
Aadhi, a mesmerizing experience. There are certain people who never go unnoticed. From the very beginning till the end, Pranav Mohanlal has taken the audience through a breathless trail. Shedding the image of a star kid, Pranav has traversed the path of hard work and commitment, and proven to be a promising actor. Congratulations Antony Chettan, Jeethu Chettan and to the entire team of Aadhi.
This Jeethu Joseph directorial is an action thriller in which Pranav plays the role of an aspiring musician. The youngster has done some risky stunts in the movie without using body doubles. Aadhi’s USP is the stylish action sequences choreographed by foreign stunt masters. Prior to the movie’s shoot, Pranav underwent Parkour training in Bangkok which has helped him a great deal.
Aadhi has a strong supporting cast. Telugu actor Jagpathi Babu, Anusree, ‘Alamara’ fame Aditi Ravi, Lena, Siju Wilson, Krishna Shankar Sharafudheen, Tony Luke, Siddique and Meghanathan are part of the movie. Satheesh Kurup has cranked the camera and Ayoob Khan has handled the edits. The movie is produced by Antony Perumbavoor under the banner of Aashirvad Cinemas.
