Pranav Mohanlal’s highly anticipated debut film as a lead actor, Aadhi is gearing up for release. The movie, scripted and directed by Jeethu Joseph is tipped to be an action packed revenge thriller. Pranav plays Pranav plays Adithya Menon aka Aadhi in the movie. He is an aspiring musician who accidentally lands in trouble. How he gets out of it forms the crux of the story.
According to Jeethu Joseph, Aadhi is not a typical mass flick. It has an action mood but not the regular kind with stunts throughout the film. It is more of a survival story. In a recent interview, the director was all praise of Pranav for his stunning performance in the action sequences.
He said, just like father Mohanlal, Pranav also wanted to do the stunts without using any dupes. Except for a single scene, all other fights were done by Pranav himself. He did some risky scenes including a couple of high jumps very effortlessly. Prior to the shoot, he was trained in Parkour by experts who were flown in from France.
Parkour is a form of acrobatic physical training that involves crossing obstacles by running, climbing, jumping, rolling and swinging. Parkour techniques have been featured in action scenes in many Hollywood movies. Since Pranav used to do gymnastics, skydiving and rock climbing, he has a fluid and flexible body language that helped him to perfom the stunts authentically.
Aadhi has a good set of actors in the supporting cast. Telugu actor Jagpathi Babu, noted for his role in Mohanlal’s Pulimurugan, will be seen as the villain in Aadhi. Siddique, Lena, Anusree, Sharafudheen, Aditi Ravi, Sijoy Varghese, Siju Wilson, Nobi, Tony Luke and Krishna Shankar are also part of the movie.
Satheesh Kurup is wielding the camera and Ayoob Khan is in charge of the edits. Anil Johnson is handling the music department.
