Alphonse Puthren directorial and Nivin Pauly starrer Mollywood flick Premam is in the news for the last 20 odd days here in Kerala and it still continues to be like that. Most of the news we heard about Premam is highly positive ones and which tells about the collection records it made and the appreciation it got from various corners of south Indian film Industry. Along with the film the star Nivin Pauly and director Alphonse Puthren also made their way to the headlines from Mollywood quite regularly and social media celebrated the character Malar which was enacted by Sai Pallavi more than anything in the film.
But the latest news about Premam was not all that positive one and its really a bad one for the film. The news is that the pirated prints of the film had already out in the market and really affecting the film bad. The pirated prints are spreading through CDs and through social media and YouTube. The pirated copy has a watermark in it which tells that it is a censor copy. That had made it a very serious issue as the censor copy is only available in the hands of the producer and in the members of the censor board. Then a pirated copy from that print really creating serious doubts in that issue.
Producer Anwar Rasheed had filed a complaint against this in police as well as in anti-piracy cell of Kerala. The president of Kerala Exhibitors Federation Liberty Basheer who was also an earlier member of the censor board said that this issue had to be taken care of seriously. Earlier when Drishyam went through a same kind of pirated issue police has acted quickly and arrested the one who has taken the pirated print from the theaters. Premam is going pretty well at box office now eventhough the collection dropped drastically with the arrival of Ramzan month and also due to heavy rain in the monsoon season. This piracy issue will add to that problem as well for the flick.
Anyway police and anti piracy cell had already started the investigation and they will make things clear very soon says Anwar Rasheed.
