Puthan Panam will be a 2017 Vishu gift for all Malayalis
One of the most awaited movies of the year, Puthan Panam is gearing up for release and will reach the Malayali audience as a Vishu gift.
Puthan Panam marks the reunion of one of the most favourite actor-director combos of Mollywood, Mammootty and Ranjith. While the ace filmmaker is joining hands with Mammootty after a gap, expectations are naturally on the higher side.
Mammootty is playing the role of Nityananda Shenoy, a mysterious guy, in the movie. Official first look poster of the movie was unveiled few days back. Mammootty is seen sporting a salt and pepper look with a thick moustache and the actor will be using the Kasargod slang in the movie.
Puthan Panam will reportedly discuss about the current financial situation and throw light on the black money circulation in the country. It will be a socially relevant movie, a genre director Ranjith has mastered in.
The director’s 2011 superhit movie Indian Rupee also addressed a similar theme about black money and the economic situation in the society. The movie had won the National Film Award for Best Feature Film in Malayalam, that year. Puthan Panam will be a different perspective on the same topic. This further heightens the expectations surrounding Puthan Panam.
The movie features Ineya and Sheelu Abraham as the female leads. Siddique, Sai Kumar, Renji Panicker, Harish Kanaran, Mamukoya, Suresh Krishna, Aanandam fame Vishak Nair, Niranjana Anoop, Ganapathy, Swaraj, Nirmal Palazhi and many others will be seen in supporting roles. A 14-year-old boy Swaraj has also been introduced through this movie. Swaraj is a school theatre actor and is a very promising talent for the future.
Popular Kollywood cinematographer Om Prakash who has worked in movies like Maari and Kaashmora is cranking the camera while Shaan Rahman is handling the music department.
Puthan Panam is produced by 3 Color Cinemas, a new production company jointly owned by Abraham Mathew (Abam Movies), director Ranjith and actor Arun Narayanan.
