Rajamouli’s next is not Mahabharata; Eega 2 on cards
Speculations were rife about SS Rajamouli starting to work on his dream project Mahabaratha. Recently, reports were doing the rounds in social medias about superstars Mohanlal, Rajinikanth and Aamir Khan starring in SS Rajamouli’s magnum opus Mahabharata. However, sources close to the director have dismissed all the reports.
Now we hear that the director is planning a sequel to the 2012 blockbuster Eega. The movie is a reincarnation story about a housefly setting out to take revenge. Eega was a sensational success in all the languages. It was made as a bilingual in Tamil and Telugu. Dubbed versions were released in Malayalam, Kannada and Hindi. The movie featured Nani, Kannada superstar Sudeep and Samantha Ruth Prabhu in the major roles. According to latest reports, SS Rajamouli will start working on the scripting soon after completing the post production works of Baahubali: The Conclusion.
Meanwhile, Baahubali 2 is in it’s final stages of production. The movie scheduled to release for April 28, is the sequel to Baahubali : The Beginning, the all time blockbuster released in 2015. The movie has already made some unprecedented pre-release business for a South Indian movie. It is reported that the film has done a business of more than Rs 500 crores prior to the release.
Expectations are sky-high for the new movie. Cine watching audience across the country are waiting with bated breath to know how things unfold in the sequel. The answer to ‘Why Kattappa killed Baahubali’ is eagerly awaited by the audience.
Prabhas, Rana Daggubati, Ramya Krishnan, Anushka Shetty, Sathyaraj and Nasser are part of the cast. The movie is produced by Shobu Yarlagadda and Prasad Devineni under the banner Arka Works
