Rajinikanth donates Rs 50 lakhs to FEFSI workers
Superstar Rajinikanth has donated a whopping sum of Rs 50 lakhs to to Film Employees Federation of South India (FEFSI) workers who are facing shutdown due to the Corona virus outbreak. It is equal to 25 percent of the money requested by the FEFSI president RK Selvamani. Earlier, actors Karthi, Suriya and their father Sivakumar had together donated Rs 10 lakh as an aid to the industry workers.
Youngsters Sivakarthikeyan and Vijay Sethupathi have also given Rs 10 lakhs each. Actors like Parthiben, Prakash Raj and Manobala have provided 250, 150, and 10 bags of rice weighing 25 kg each respectively. More celebs from Kollywood are coming forward to lend a helping hand to the workers suffering due to the lockdown.
Film shooting and screenings across the country have been stalled due to the lockdown following the Corona virus outbreak. According to health ministry data, there are 492 confirmed cases in the country at present. As many as 32 states and Union Territories are under lockdown.
