Rakshadhikari Baiju shoot was possible thanks to the aid and love of Payyoli natives
Biju Menon’s next with scenarist turned director Ranjan Pramod’s Rakshadhikari Baiju is gearing up for release. The movie is expected to hit screens next month.
Rakshadhikari Baiju features Biju Menon in the title role of an irrigation department employee. His role in the movie is not a larger than life one, but one who shows his heroism in subtle ways. He is an ordinary man, who spends his life travelling from his village to work in the city and back. He doesn’t go out of his way to help people or be good, but somehow ends up doing a heroic deed.
The movie features more than 100 characters as part of the story with each tale connected to the protagonist Rakshadhikari Baiju.
In a recent chat session with Onlookers Media, director Ranjan Pramod expressed his gratitude to the natives of Payyoli for their cooperation while shooting the movie. Apparently, the team had used sync sound technology for the movie. In a sync sound system, sound will be captured from live locations as it will enhance the realistic feel of the movie. While recording sound from live locations, other noise disturbances should not be heard in an area of up to 2 kilometers. Natives of that particular locality cooperated with the shooting team and stopped their construction and other works while shoot was progressing. The director acknowledged the cooperation of the Payyoli natives while sharing with us about the experience of working in the movie.
Darwinte Parinamam fame Hannah Reji Koshy has played the female lead in the movie. Aju Varghese, Deepak Parambol, Hareesh Kanaran, Vijayaraghavan, Janardhanan, Indrans, Dileesh Pothen and Alencier Ley Lopez have played supporting characters.
