Rishab Shetty to Star as Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj in Historical Epic ‘The Pride of Bharat-Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj’
Acclaimed actor Rishab Shetty, known for his performance in Kantara, is set to portray the legendary Maratha warrior Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj in the ambitious film The Pride of Bharat: Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj. Directed by Sandeep Singh, the film was announced alongside its first poster, which highlights Shetty in the regal avatar of the revered leader.
Sharing his excitement on social media, Sandeep Singh described the project as more than just a film. “Presenting the epic saga of India’s greatest warrior king – The Pride of Bharat: Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj. This is a tribute to a leader who defied all odds, challenged the powerful Mughal empire, and carved a legacy that remains eternal,” he stated.
Promising a visually stunning and action-packed narrative, the film is set to explore untold chapters of Shivaji Maharaj’s journey. The historical drama will debut in theaters worldwide on January 21, 2027.
Apart from this major project, Rishab Shetty is preparing for the highly anticipated Kantara: Chapter 1, a prequel to the 2022 blockbuster, and will also take on the lead role in Jai Hanuman, part of Prashanth Verma’s expanding superhero universe following the success of Hanu-Man.
