Sangamithra to finally go on floors this July!
Director Sundar C’s magnum opus Sangamithra hogged the headlines for several reasons. The movie’s massive production cost, it’s high profile launch at the Cannes Festival and Shruthi Haasan opting out after days of the launch were all in the news. Bollywood actress Disha Patani was later signed to replace Shruti for the titular role, Sangamithra.
The movie was supposed to go on floors last year itself but had to be postponed due to some unknown reasons. As per latest reports, the makers are planning to start shoot from this July in Hyderabad. Sangamithra, written and directed by Sundar C is an epic period film which is estimated to be made on a whopping budget of Rs 400 crore by Thenandal Studios Limited (TSL)
Jayam Ravi and Arya will be playing the male protagonists in the movie. It is a period drama set in the 8th century AD. All three lead actors – Disha Patani, Jayam Ravi and Arya have been undergoing rigorous training in horse riding, physical combat and other weapon-based martial arts training. Oscar Award winner AR Rahman will be handling the music department and Sabu Cyril has been roped in as the production designer.
More details regarding the supporting cast and technical crew is expected to be announced in the coming weeks.
