Sanjay Dutt to play the lead in Bhaskar The Rascal remake
Director Siddique is one of the very few Malayali filmmakers who have been successful in other languages. The veteran director has made a mark for himself in Tamil and Hindi languages.
Siddique has now roped in Sanjay Dutt to play the lead in the Hindi remake of superhit Malayalam movie Bhaskar The Rascal. The original had Mammootty in the lead role.
The movie deals with the story of a handsome young widower who is impatient and quick-tempered and what happens when a single mother comes into his life. Mammootty played the title role while Nayanthara essayed the female lead character.
The Hindi version will go on floors in September this year. Details regarding the remaining cast and crew members is not yet known. Siddique made his directorial debut in Bollywood in 2011 through Bodyguard. The Salman Khan starrer was the remake of his superhit Malayalam movie of the same name. Bodyguard was remade in all major Indian languages with Siddique helming the Tamil and Hindi versions. Vijay played the lead in the Tamil version.
Apart from that movies like Hera Pher, Hulchul, Bhagam Bhaag and Dhol, directed by the popular Siddique- Lal combo have been remade in Hindi.
We had earlier reported that handsome hunk Aravind Swamy will be playing the lead in the Tamil version of Bhaskar The Rascal. The is scheduled to go on floors in March this year.
