Sequel on cards for Rajinikanth’s all-time blockbuster Padayappa!
Even though Rajinikanth launched his own political party, it seems like he is in mood to stop doing films. For his next after the ongoing Karthik Subbaraj film, the superstar is in talks with filmmakers like AR Murugadoss and KS Ravikumar. While the latter has worked previously with Rajinikanth, ARM is trying to fulfill his long cherished dream to work with Thalaivar. Reportedly, both the directors have pitched their ideas, but the actor is yet to give a nod.
Latest buzz is that KS Ravikumar is planning to reunite with Rajinikanth for the sequel of their blockbuster film Padayappa. An official confirmation has not yet been made but fans in social medias are already in a frenzy mood. Padayappa, released in 1999, enjoys a cult status among the Tamil cinema audience even today.
Padayappa is still regarded as one of the finest mass entertainers of all time. The movie had a steller star comprising of Rajinikanth, Sivaji Ganesan, late Soundarya, Ramya Krishnan, Nasser and Abbas. If reports about the sequel turn out to be true, it will be nothing short of a herculean task for the makers to live up to the first part. While a section of audience are excited about the news, many believe that classics like Padayappa and Baasha should not be touched at any cost.
Rajinikanth-KS Ravikumar duo’s last two outings Lingaa and Kochadaiyaan (scripted by Ravikumar) were failures. So, they will be hoping to get back to winning ways in grand style. As of now, let’s wait for the official announcement.
