Shankar and Kamal Haasan to reunite for the sequel of Indian!
There have been a lot of speculations about the next project of director Shankar after the magnum opus 2.0. Names like Vijay and Ajith have been doing the rounds for sometime but the latest buzz is that Kamal Haasan might be teaming up with Shankar, popularly known as Indian cinema’s ‘showman’.
As per grapevine, Kamal Haasan and Shankar are reuniting for the sequel to their blockbuster movie Indian. This is a highly exciting news for all cine lovers as Indian enjoys a cult status among the audience. Indian, released back in 1996 is a vigilante crime thriller film. Kamal Haasan played a dual role in the movie which also starred Manisha Koirala, Urmila Matondkar and Sukanya.
Indian went on to win three National Film Awards including the best actor award for Kamal Haasan’s outstanding performance in the movie. The movie was also India’s official submission for the Academy Award for best foreign language film. Indian had an open climax which paved for several speculations regarding a possible sequel to the movie.
Meanwhile, both Shankar and Kamal Haasan are busy with their respective commitments. The director is busy working on 2.0, starring Rajinikanth and Akshay Kumar in the lead. Shankar and his team is working tirelessly to ensure a grand release in January next year. Kamal Haasan has Vishwaroopam 2, Sabaash Naidu and his television commitments.
