Siddharth wants BJP to stop Hindu nation narrative
Popular actor Siddharth in a series of tweets has shown his dissent to certain policies of the ruling BJP government. Siddharth, despite being a very busy actor, has always been actively involved in social works. His efforts during the Chennai floods were much appreciated. He is probably the first actor from the South to raise voice against the BJP government.
Siddharth in his Twitter questioned about the cattle slaughter issue and asked the central government to stay out. He wants the BJP government to stop the Hindu nation narrative.
Following are his tweets,
Dear #BJP you have power. Empower #India. Stay out of people’s private choices. Stop this#Hindu nation narrative. We are better than that.
The row about #cattle markets is unnecessary and only polarises people. State govts allow or disallow slaughter. #Center should stay out.
Most of us are neither #bhakts nor #libtards or whatever these ugly names are. We are just#Indians. Live and let live. Stop the hate!
Siddharth also posted a photo and expressed his concern about people injured in the clash over slaughter ban. The actor wrote about the incident in IIT Madras where a Malayali PhD research students was attacked by a group of students for supporting beef consumption.
“Broken face and broken arm got into a fight. Who hit whom? & since when did #IIT students start whacking each other?”
Recently, the Narendra Modi government introduced a rule that bans the sale of cattle for slaughter. The ban triggered widespread protests in several parts of the country especially in Kerala, West Bengal and Tamil Nadu. Citizens have been questioning about how the union government can introduce such an undemocratic rule that pokes into their food habits.
