Soubin Shahir plays a Jewish character in Bhadran’s Joothan
As reported by us recently, veteran director Bhadran is staging a comeback after nearly a decade with a movie titled ‘Joothan’. Joju George, Soubin Shahir and Rima Kallingal have been signed to play the lead roles in the movie. S Suresh Babu, who has penned films like ‘Nadan’, ‘Shikkar’ and ‘Kanal’, is scripting this upcoming movie as well. The makers had recently announced the project by releasing an intriguing motion poster.
‘Joothan’ has Soubin Shahir playing a Jewish character named Eo Eliyavu Kohan. Scriptwriter Suresh Babu firmly believes that it will be one of the best roles that Soubin has essayed so far in his career. Over the last one year or so, Soubin’s career has propelled to a different league with him playing lead roles in acclaimed films like ‘Sudani From Nigeria’ and ‘Kumbalangi Nights’. ‘Sudani’ also won him a Kerala State award for best actor. With an experienced filmmaker like Bhadran at the helm, ‘Joothan’ promises to bring out a different shade of Soubin.
According to the makers, ‘Joothan’ has got mystery, thrill and romance.The movie has cinematography by Lokanadhan S and music by Sushin Shyam. Ruby Films is presenting the movie, shoot for which is scheduled to commence by the end of June.
