Will support the government’s decision to scrap the higher denomination currency : Aamir Khan
Aamir Khan is currently busy promoting his upcoming release Dangal. During a promotional event recently, Aamir Khan has said that he will stand by the government’s decision to demonetize the higher denomination notes.
He said that he is not afraid of this decision because he is a regular tax paying citizen of the country and that he has no black money stashed with him.
Speaking at the event, Aamir Khan said, “I think these issues which are concerning our country are more important. We shouldn’t see the short term impact of it. The things that we need to do for the country, we should do it. Even if it causes loss to my film, I will see it as a small thing.”
Aamir Khan has earlier found himself in controversies while speaking against certain ideologies of the ruling central government. He was widely criticised for talking about the intolerance in that country.
He was also removed from many posts like the ambassador of Incredible India. His blockbuster movie PK also was marred by allegations that the film had hurt the religious sentiments of the Hindu community.
But Aamir this time has supported the initiative to scrap the 500 and 1000 rupee notes, in order to stop the counterfeit note circulation and to check the black money in the country.
Dangal is scheduled to release during Christmas this year. Trade sources have indicated that all upcoming releases will be severely affected due to the currency issue. Last week Rock On 2 witnessed a poor opening, eventhough a movie was a highly expected one.
