Suresh Gopi Set for Acting Comeback with ‘Ottakomban’; Shoot to Begin December 29
Thiruvananthapuram: Veteran actor and Union Minister Suresh Gopi is gearing up for his much-anticipated return to the big screen with the action-packed film Ottakomban. Following a period of uncertainty, it has been reported that Gopi has received initial approval to take part in the project, with a formal confirmation expected shortly. The BJP leadership has permitted him to film for eight days, starting December 29.
The film, produced by Gokulam Movies and helmed by director Mathew Thomas, features a gripping script written by Shibin Francis. Suresh Gopi will share the screen with Biju Menon, while the female lead will be played by celebrated actress Anushka Shetty.
The first leg of filming is set to commence in Thiruvananthapuram, with scenes planned at the Central Jail. Gopi is expected to finish his parts by January 5, marking the end of his permitted schedule. The actor has been growing a beard to portray the character’s distinct look, which raised questions about the film’s progress when he appeared clean-shaven due to earlier delays.
Explaining his decision to return to acting, Gopi highlighted that his film work helps support his social and charitable projects. Fans are eager for his return, especially following the success of his last film, the investigative thriller Garudan, where he shared screen space with Biju Menon.
Suresh Gopi’s upcoming projects include the highly awaited Chinthamani Kolacase sequel and the next chapter of the sci-fi film Gaganachari, titled Maniyan Chittappan.
With Ottakomban set to be an action-filled drama, expectations are high as the veteran actor prepares to step back into the spotlight. Fans are excitedly awaiting further updates as filming begins at the end of this month.
