Suresh Gopi’s son Gokul Suresh in Lelam 2!!!
It’s been a long while since reports about a sequel for the 1997 blockbuster Lelam started doing the rounds in social medias. Scriptwriter Renji Panicker confirmed recently that the sequel will go on floors this year. His son Nithin Renji Panicker, who made his debut with the Mammootty starrer Kasaba, will be directing Lelam 2.
Recently, Suresh Gopi’s son Gokul Suresh shared a photo with Nithin in his Instagram account. Gokul captioned it as ‘something fishy!’. This has fuelled speculations about the actor being part of Lelam 2. It is almost confirmed but an official word is still awaited.
Gokul Suresh made an impressive debut in 2016 with a charming performance in Mudhugauv, a full on fun entertainer. He was last seen in a crucial role in Megastar Mammootty’s mass action flick Masterpiece. He is currently shooting for Ira, in which he is playing one of the leads alongside Unni Mukundan. It will be really interesting if he gets to share space with his father Suresh Gopi in Lelam 2.
Lelam, directed by veteran filmmaker Joshiy was released back in 1997. Suresh Gopi’s terrific portrayal of the fiery Aanakkattil Chackochi had won him numerous fans and accolades. Renji Panicker scripted this full on commercial entertainer that ran high on Suresh Gopi’s stardom and late actor Soman’s wonderful performance.
According to reports, Renji Panicker is scripting Lelam 2 as a mass action flick. Apart from Suresh Gopi, Nandini and Siddique are also expected to reprise their roles from the first part. More details regarding the other cast and crew members will be revealed soon. Renji Panicker and Josemon Simon will be producing the movie.
