Suriya 40: Shoot of a massive action sequence postponed due to Covid second wave
Shoot for Suriya’s new film directed by Pandiraj had been progressing at a brisk pace. The team has now hit a roadblock due to the second wave of pandemic, which has caused a rapid surge in cases across the country. The makers were planning to shoot a massive action sequence involving hundreds of junior artists. But due to the current situation, it is not possible to shoot the sequence as planned. They have decided to film it later after things return to normalcy.
Tentatively titled as ‘Suriya 40’, it is a mass action entertainer with a huge star cast. The makers have so far released two location stills — one in which Suriya is seen holding a gun and the other has him walking majestically with a huge sword in hand. It is a clear indication that the film will be action-packed. AnbAriv duo is choreographing the stunts in the film.
‘Suriya 40’ has Priyanka Arul Mohan of ‘Gang Leader’ fame as the female lead. ‘Unnale Unnale’ fame Vinay essays the antagonist’s role. Sathyaraj, Saranya Ponvannan, Jayaprakash, Ilavarasan, Devadarshini, Subbu Panchu Arunachalam and ‘Vada Chennai’ fame Saran will be seen in supporting roles.
On the technical front, the film has Rathnavelu as the cinematographer and the recent National-award winner D Imman as the composer. Sun Pictures is producing the film.
