Thalapathy 64: Anirudh to compose for Vijay’s next
There is a strong buzz in Kollywood medias that Vijay’s next after the ongoing Atlee film will be helmed by promising young director Lokesh Kanagaraj. The project has almost been confirmed and it will be bankrolled by Xavier Britto, who is said to be a relative of Vijay. The official announcement is expected to be made on the actor’s birthday, which falls on June 22.
Director Lokesh made his debut in 2017 with the surprise hit ‘Maanagaram’. The movie, which was a brilliantly made hyperlink thriller, emerged both as a critical and commercial success. Since then, Lokesh has been rated as one of the most promising new gen filmmakers in Tamil at present.
Lokesh is currently working on ‘Kaithi’ starring Karthi. For Thalapathy 64, it is said that the director has retained the same technical team except the music director. Anirudh Ravichander will be composing the music for this film. It marks his reunion with Vijay after the blockbuster success of ‘Kaththi’.
It is said that Lokesh is planning an action film with Vijay in which the star will be seen in the role of a ruthless gangster. If things turn out as per plans, the film will start rolling by the end of this year. Sathyan Sooryan will be the cinematographer and edits will be handled by Philomin Raj.
