Thalapathy 64 announced; Anirudh to compose music!
The much-awaited official announcement of Vijay’s next after ‘Bigil’ has finally been made. As reported earlier, the movie is written and directed by Lokesh Kanagaraj of ‘Maanagaram’ fame. Tentatively titled as ‘Thalapathy 64’, it is said to be a new attempt from the actor that is in contrast to the widely appealing mass entertainers that he most often does. The announcement poster itself was quite unique and caught everyone’s attention instantly.
Director Lokesh made his debut two years bacak with the surprise hit ‘Maanagaram’. Since then, he has been rated as a highly promising new gen filmmaker. He is currently working on the post-production of his second film, ‘Kaithi’ starring Karthi in the lead. It is scheduled for release in the last week of October.
Though the cast of ‘Thalapathy 64’ has not yet been announced, it is reported that the movie will have Malayali actor Antony Varghese as the antagonist. Antony is well known for his performances in the nationally acclaimed ‘Angamaly Diaries’ and ‘Swathanthryam Ardharathriyil’.
Names like Kiara Advani, Rashmika Mandanna and Raashi Khanna are also doing rounds for to the female lead. Anirudh Ravichander has been signed as the composer. It marks his second time collaboration with Vijay after the blockbuster success of ‘Kaththi’. Cinematographer Sathyan Sooryan, editor Philomin Raj, Stunt Silva and art director Satheesh Kumar are also part of the technical crew.
Xavier Britto, who had earlier produced Vijay’s films like ‘Deva’, ‘Rasigan’ and ‘Sendhoorapandian’, is producing ‘Thalapathy 64’ as well. Shoot is planned to begin from October and it will be hitting screens next April.
