What could have been that one billion dollar question which changed the course of time of Malayalam cinema? We all know Vineeth Sreenivasan as an all rounder of Mollywood who keeps smashing the bails over and hitting back to back sixers. At first he became popular as a singer and we all accepted him. Later he revealed his hereditary talent in acting . Then he came as a director and scriptwriter too and to say the least the man with the midas touch done it again as he is accepted as one of the best young filmmakers we have in our industry.
He is a hit maker in all sense and the son of actor/director/writer Sreenivasan has always done his father proud. When it comes to writing Vineeth is not only a scriptwriter but also a lyricist too. One of his biggest contributions to Malayalam cinema apart from his films and singing is the ability to find new talents which includes Nivin Pauly, Aju Varghese, Shaan Rahman, and the list goes on.
But now in recent interview with a film magazine Vineeth had said that it was Megastar Mammootty’s one question that made him a film director from a singer. He recalled that incident in the interview. He wanted to do an album few years back and had went to meet Mammootty for the same. The star was in the shooting set of the film Mission 90 Days directed by Major Ravi when Vineeth approached him. After Vineeth told his plans to Mammootty , the star asked Vineeth a question that whether he want to do an album or he wants his date to do a film..? That question had really changed everything for Vineeth and the entirety of Mollywood.
That question had really influenced Vineeth and he dropped the plans to make the album. After that he became a director through the film Malarvadi Arts Club which was financed by Popular actor Dileep which was a success. Later he became a popular director with the grand success of Thattathin Marayathu and his latest directorial venture was the critically acclaimed, socially relevant,well-conceived movie Thira, which marked the return of the versatile actress, Shobana. The script of the recent blockbuster hit Oru Vadakkan Selfie was also from this hitmaker.According to news he is planning his next flick with Mammootty in the lead.
