Theri vs 24, a comparison
Ilaya Thalapathy starrer Theri and Nadippin Nayakan Suriya starrer 24 are the major releases from Kollywood this season. Both films were doing really good in box office and got decent appreciation from all over as well. So, there is a scope for comparison between the two films as there is a race between these two films at box office reportedly.

This flick is written and directed by Atlee who shot to fame with his first film named Raja Rani few years back. Kalaipuli S Thanu had produced this movie. Vijay, Samantha, Amy Jackson, Prabhu, Baby Nainika, Mahendran etc played the key roles in this movie in which Vijay played a cop role. This film is a mass masala entertainer and had got decent opinion from all around.
The screenplay and direction raised only to an average level but the stardom of Vijay made the film to gain big success at box office. The film released on April 14 all over the world had almost crossed 160 crores from its worldwide run till now. The film is made using a budget of 100 crores as per report and is cruising toward becoming the biggest hit in Vijay’s career. Thuppakki was the biggest grosser in his career which grossed around 190 crores.

This film is written and directed by Vikram Kumar and produced by Suriya. Vikram Kumar is famous for his Telugu film Manam and this one 24 is a science fiction fantasy film. The film has got good response from all over and Vikram Kumar is getting great appreciation for his screenplay and direction. Suriya had played 3 characters in this film including the villain role named Athreya and getting great applause from audience and critics.
The film was released on May 6th all over the world and in 3 day time it had collected around 65 crores from worldwide box office. The film is made using a budget around 75 crores as per reports. Samantha, Saranya Ponvarnnan, Nithya Menon etc played the key roles in this movie apart from Suriya. Suriya has made a great come back after a series of failures he had to suffer with his previous films.
