Vicky Kaushal to star in Sam Manekshaw biopic; Here’s the first look
Vicky Kaushal is one of the most wanted stars in Bollywood right now. The huge success of ‘Uri: The Surgical Strike’ has made him a popular face across the country. He is currently shooting for Shoojit Sircar’s new film which is based on Sardar Udham Singh, a pre-Independence revolutionary. The actor has now signed yet another biopic.
Meghna Gulzar is directing the movie which is based on India’s first Field Marshal Sam Manekshaw. The first look was released today on his death anniversary. Vicky Kaushal looks stunning in the photo with a thick bushy moustache. Taking to his social media handle, the actor has written,
I feel honoured, emotional and proud of getting a chance to unfold the journey of this fearless patriot, the swashbuckling general, the first Field Marshal of India- SAM MANEKSHAW. Remembering him on his death anniversary today and embracing the new beginnings with @meghnagulzar and #RonnieScrewvala. @rsvpmovies
Meghna Gulzar is well known for directing ‘Talvar’ and ‘Raazi’, both of which were critically and commercially acclaimed. She has worked previously with Vicky in ‘Raazi’, so much is expected from this combo. The Sam Manekshaw biopic is scripted by Bhavani Iyer of ‘Raazi’ fame and ‘Badhaai Ho’ co-scenarist Shanthanu Srivastava.
