Vijay film’s director also part of Joseph Tamil remake
As reported by us earlier, Joju George starrer ‘Joseph’ is getting remade in Tamil. M Padmakumar, who directed the original, is helming the Tamil version as well. RK Suresh is reprising the lead role played by Joju George. Multiple National-award winning filmmaker Bala is producing the film, which is yet to be titled.
John Mahendran, the director of Vijay’s much-loved film ‘Sachien’, is also part of the remake of ‘Joseph’. Reportedly, he is adapting the screenplay and penning the dialogues in Tamil. John has similarly worked in remake of films like ‘Delhi Belly’ and ‘Raanjhanaa’. He also wrote the Tamil dialogues for the dubbed version of Mahesh Babu’s hit Telugu film ‘Dookudu’.
According to John Mahendran, shoot of ‘Joseph’ work is almost complete. He recently took to Twitter to share a photo taken with M Padmakumar and heaped praise on the director. His tweet reads,
“M.Padmakumar Sir undoubtedly, one of the finest Directors I worked with. More than my Dialogues, it is the silence that M.Padmakumar uses the best to make his characters speak.”
‘Joseph’ is about a retired policeman finding out the mystery behind his ex-wife’s death. Joju’s performance in the film was widely appreciated and he deservingly won a Special Jury Mention in National Awards and the Kerala State award for Best Character Actor.
