Vijay Sethupathi starrer Tughlaq Durbar to have a direct television premiere in Sun TV
It was recently announced that Vijay Sethupathi’s new film ‘Tughlaq Durbar’ will be skipping theatre release and instead premiere on Disney + Hotstar. However, latest buzz is that the deal has changed hands. It is reported that the film will have a direct television premiere in Sun TV on Vinayakar Chathurthi (September 10), followed by Netflix release on the same day. The makers are expected to officially announce it soon.
‘Tughlaq Durbar’ directed by debutant Delhi Prasad Deenadayal is a mass entertainer centred around local politics. Vijay Sethupathi plays a character named Singam in it. The story revolves around his transformation from a betrayer to a good person. Raashi Khanna is paired with him in the film. Malayali actress Manjima Mohan is also playing a prominent role as his sister. Veteran actor Parthiepan essays the antagonist’s role.
The film has Manoj Paramahamsa as the DOP and Govind Vasantha as the music director. Balaji Tharaneetharan, who has directed films like ‘Naduvula Konjam Pakkatha Kaanom’ and ‘Seethakaathi’, has written the dialogues. It is being produced jointly by 7 Screen Studio and Viacom 18.
