Vijay’s character in Master named as John Durairaj
Vijay starrer ‘Master’ is in the final stages of post-production. The film was originally supposed to release on April 9 but due to the Corona virus outbreak, it remains to be seen if the date gets postponed. Even in the final stages before shoot, the makers have kept utmost secrecy regarding the plot or even the genre. It is learnt that Vijay’s character in the film is named as John Durairaj aka JD. He is a professor and also the Dean of Students Association in an arts and science college. Actors like Gouri Kishan, Shanthanu Bhagyaraj, Ramya Subramaniam and many others will be seen as students. The female lead Malavika Mohanan also essays a faculty member in the film. The makers shot the college portions in New Delhi.
Written and directed by Lokesh Kanagaraj, ‘Master’ promises to be a different kind of film from what Vijay has been doing of late. The makers have repeatedly confirmed this. Even the recently released songs indicate the same. It is very unlike an usual Vijay film album. The songs composed by Anirudh sound fresh and most of them seem to be content oriented. The film has 12 tracks in the narrative out of which 8 have already been released.
