Yatra: Ram Gopal Varma praises Mammootty for immortalising YSR forever
Mammootty’s Telugu film ‘Yatra’ has taken a big opening with positive reports from all corners. Critics and commoners alike have appreciated the earnest effort of the makers. Written and directed by Mahi V Raghav, the movie is based on the late Andhra Pradeesh Chief Minister YS Rajasekhar Reddy aka YSR’s historical three-month-long padayatra. It was a changing point in his political career which propelled his image as the people’s leader.
Mammootty’s performance as YSR has found unanimous appreciation. The actor has not tried to mimic YSR but perform the role in his own authentic style. His Telugu dialogue presentation has also been highly praised. YSR’s score followers were impressed by how Mammootty played their leader’s role. ‘Yatra’, cast comprises of Rao Ramesh, Anasuya Bharadwaj, Suhasini Mani Ratnam, Posani Krishna Murali, Vinod Kumar and Sachin Khedekar. Vijay Chilla and Shashi Devi Reddy have jointly produced the movie under the banner of 70MM Entertainments.
