The Gana Gandharvan, Shri Yesudas refused to accept the request to sing at the Gandhi Jayanthi Celebration along with the students who were present for singing for the same. This unfortunate incident happened at the Deshathinayi Paadu or Sing For The Nation event which was organised in connection with Gandhi Jayanthi Celebration. It is known from sources that the organisers of the programme requested Yesudas saying the same lot of times but he commented not to compel him for singing. This behaviour of him made the children at the event feel bad as they thought they would get a chance of singing along with the greatest singer alive, Yesudas. The event was organised at the Central Stadium on Gandhi Jayanthi Celebration. Following the event there were other musical programmes handled by other famous singers like Sudeep Kumar, Rajalakshmi etc.
When Yesudas was requested to sing, he was adamant about his decision that he will not sing, the reasons behind it is still unknown as Yesudas never did something like this before. Yesudas sang at the Soorya Festival this year too as he performed a concert some days back. May be there are some other reason for this great singer’s refusal. Anyway the refusal has been heartbreaking for the children present at the stadium who dreamt of singing along with Yesudas on the eve of Gandhi Jayanthi. And it’s also known that Yesudas did not even care to have a glance at the children or wave to them and the people who came to attend the event. This strange behaviour of Yesudas left the audience shell-shocked.
There are also reports that the organisers of the event, Kerala Public Relations and Informations requested Yesudas to go on to the ground to meet the children who came to sing but he refused it at first and later agreed to do so after much requesting. But he was in his car and did not even care to get down from the car as the stadium was full of mud after yesterday’s rain as per sources.
So is this the popularity or fame which has made a singer like Yesudas to behave like this or else is there any other explanation or reason which we are missing out from this whole event ? As this is getting discussed everywhere hope this master of singing comes up with his say on what has happened and give us some clarity about the news that is spreading.
