YSR Biopic: Excellent response for Yatra teaser in Tollywood!
The teaser of upcoming Telugu movie, Yatra was released on Saturday midnight on the occasion of late Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister YS Rajasekhara Reddy’s (YSR) birth anniversary. The movie which is a biopic on YSR is directed by Mahi V Raghav. Malayalam superstar Mammootty plays the late CM’s role in the movie.
The 54 second long teaser is trending virally in social medias. Telugu audience and critics have heaped praise on Mammootty for his perfect diction and his famed voice modulation. His majestic voice-over and screen presence in the teaser has enhanced the expectations. The actor, who has time and again proven that language is no barrier for him, is set to reiterate the same with Yatra.
YSR is one of the most popular and revered politicians that the state of Andhra Pradesh has ever seen. So naturally, it will be one of the most challenging roles Mammootty has done his career so far. Yatra is an event-based film which primarily focuses on the time during YSR’s famous three-month-long padayatra in 2003. The padayatra was a defining moment in his career which transformed him into a people’s leader.
Yatra is being made with high production values. The massive success of the recently released Savitri biopic, Mahanati, has clearly inspired the makers of Yatra. Apart from Mammootty, the movie also has some other leading actors from South Indian cinema. Jagapathi Babu, Suhasini and Bhumika are already confirmed in the cast.
Shoot for the movie is currently progressing at a brisk pace in Hyderabad. The makers are planning to complete shooting and post-production formalities in six months and release the film by January 2019. Vijay Chilla and Shashi Devi are jointly producing the movie under their banner of 70MM Entertainments.
