Soubin Shahir Replaces Asif Ali in Thattum Vellattam; Title Announced

The much-awaited project Thattum Vellattam has been officially announced, with Soubin Shahir and Deepak Parambol in the lead roles. Directed by Mridul Nair, the film is expected to be a gripping tale with cultural and mystical elements, as hinted by its title. The film was initially planned with Asif Ali in the lead, but the makers have now confirmed Soubin as the protagonist. Produced under The Filmy Joint banner, the film’s tagline, When Faith Changes Fate, suggests an intense narrative rooted in tradition and belief.

Reports indicate that Thattum Vellattam is based on Theyyam, a ritualistic art form from Kerala known for its spiritual significance and visually striking performances. With Mridul Nair at the helm and a screenplay co-written by Akhil K, the film is expected to be a unique blend of folklore and drama. The technical team includes cinematographer Manoj Kumar Khatoi, music director Manikandan Ayyappa, editor Sooraj ES, and art director Ajay Mangad, promising a visually and musically immersive experience.

The project is being backed by executive producer Sajimon Prabhakar, further raising expectations for its scale and execution. The announcement has already generated curiosity among moviegoers, especially with Soubin Shahir taking on a role deeply rooted in Kerala’s rich cultural heritage. More updates, including the rest of the cast and filming schedule, are expected in the coming weeks as the team gears up to bring Thattum Vellattam to life.
