Bilal: Mamta Mohandas says she’s thoroughly excited to be back with Big B team
As we already know, a sequel for the 2007 Mammootty starter ‘Big B’ is getting ready. Titled as ‘Bilal’, the film will have most of the cast and crew members from the first part retained. Amal Neerad, who made his debut with ‘Big B’, is helming the sequel as well. Mammootty, Bala, Manoj K Jayan and Mamta Mohandas will be reprising their roles.
In a recent interview, Mamta sounded very excited to be back with the ‘Big B’ team. She will be seen reprising the character Rimi, who was the love interest of Murugan John Kurishingal, played by Bala. Their romantic track offered the much-needed light hearted moments in ‘Big B’. The song ‘Muthu Mazha’ featuring Bala and Mamta was a big hit at those times.
When it comes to the second part, Mamta’s character Rimi will be better, matured and a little more part of the Kurishingal family. The actress herself revealed this in a recent interview to TOI. She is quoted saying,
“Big B was Amal’s first film and I’m sure once we start shooting we are all going to go back to crazy nostalgia. It’s going to be an experience for us to relish at location. We are all looking forward to it and are excited about the new addition to the cast in Bilal. After all it’s a franchise movie, so Rimi is going to be Rimi, just a few notches better, matured and a little more part of the Kurishingal family. She’s one of them now, rather than being looked at as an outsider.”
‘Bilal’ shoot was supposed to kick-start on March 21, but due to the Corona virus outbreak, the makers have been forced to shelve their plans. Unni R is scripting the film and it will have music by Gopi Sunder.
