Confirmed: Jean Paul Lal to direct Prithviraj next
Jean Paul Lal aka Lal Jr has had an interesting start to his filmmaking career. His debut film, ‘Honey Bee’ was an youthful entertainer that became a rage among the Malayalis youngsters. His second film, ‘Hi I’m Tony’ was in stark contrast; a dark psychological thriller, which was a daring attempt. His last outing, ‘Honey Bee 2.5’ had high expectations prior to its release but ended up as a failure. Jean is now back on track as he is set to helm his next with Prithviraj Sukumaran in the lead.
According to Jean, it is a big budget project that will be entirely different from what he has done so far. Writer-filmmaker Sachy is scripting the movie and it is slated to go on floors next February. More details are expected to be officially announced shortly.
Prithviraj meanwhile has his kitty full with a handful of projects. He is currently working on his directorial debut ‘Lucifer’. He has ‘Kaaliyan’, ‘Aadujeevitham’ and Kalabhavan Shajon’s directorial debut ‘Brother’s Day’ coming up. The actor is also in talks with ‘Swathanthryam Ardharathriyil’ director Tinu Pappachan and Sachy for a couple of other projects.
Prithviraj’s next to hit screens is Nine aka 9, a sci-fi thriller. The movie directed by Jenuse Mohammed marks the maiden venture of the actor’s banner, Prithviraj Productions. It is scheduled to release on February 7.
