Jayasurya and Manju Warrier set to act together for the first time
We had recently reported about Manju Warrier signing a new project with director Prajesh Sen. It is now learnt that Jayasurya is also part of the film. This will be the first time Jayasurya and Manju Warrier will be sharing screen space. Nothing much is known regarding the film, including its genre or plot details. B Rakesh of Universal Cinema is producing the film, which is set to go on floors early next year. Thiruvananthapuram has been finalized as the main location.
Interestingly, Prajesh Sen’s previous two films also had Jaysurya in the lead. His directorial debut ‘Captain’, which was a biopic on late Indian footballer VP Sathyan, was critically acclaimed and won Jayasurya the State Award for Best Actor. His second film ‘Vellam’ has Jayasurya playing a drunkard’s role. It was scheduled for release earlier this year but has been delayed due to the pandemic.
Jayasurya is currently shooting for his 100th film ‘Sunny’. Ranjith Sankar is directing the film, which has an experimental nature with only Jayasurya’s character appearing throughout. Manju Warrier meanwhile is shooting for her brother Madhu Warrier’s directorial debut ‘Lalitham Sundharam’. She along with Biju Menon play the lead roles in the film, which is touted to be a feel-good entertainer.
