Kabali director Pa Ranjith is fascinated by Angamaly Diaries
Angamaly Diaries has entered it’s fifth week of theatrical run but it still continues garner appreciation. Latest to join the list of celebrities who praised Angamaly Diaries is Kabali director Pa Ranjith, who wrote in his Twitter space that the movie was amazing.
Pa Ranjith is known for this rooted to realism type of story telling. Kabali even after being a Rajinikanth starrer had very less filmy glamour as Ranjith tried to make the movie by his style rather turning it into just another superstar vehicle. So, it’s no wonder Ranjith was impressed with Angamaly Diaries, which has realism and rawness written all over it.
Some of the most eminent film personalities like Mohanlal, Prithviraj, Nivin Pauly, Tovino Thomas, Asif Ali, directors Sibi Malayil, Sathyan Anthikad, VK Prakash, Lal Jose, Karthik Subbaraj and many others appreciated the movie and the team’s efforts.
Anurag Kashyap, regarded as an auteur and the front runner of bold and hard hitting realistic movies in Indian cinema, rated Angamaly Diaries as the best movie of the year.
The movie is directed by Mollywood’s maverick Lijo Jose Pellissery. Actor Chemban Vinod Jose also made his debut as a scenarist through this movie. Angamaly Diaries showcases the culture of that particular region and the nature of the people in that locality. It is a story about a group of youngsters in the Angamaly region and featured around 86 new comers in various characters including the lead roles. Vijay Babu’s Friday Film House bank rolled the movie.
