Kuttanpillayude Sivarathri continues to get good response from the audience!
Suraj Venjaramoodu’s latest outing as a lead actor, Kuttanpillayude Sivarathri was released on May 11. The movie continues to get good response from all the centres across the state. Most critics have also given a thumbs up for the movie. The movie directed by Jean Markose of ‘Angels’ fame is a satirical family drama with a tinge of fantasy element.
Newcomer Joselet Joseph has scripted this movie which follows the life of Plachottil Kuttan Pillai, a 58-year-old senior police constable. Suraj plays this lead role which is one of the most challenging roles he has ever played. Kuttanpilla is someone who is very tough on the outer but is caring and compassionate within. Suraj as Kuttanpilla has given one of his finest ever performances. In many interviews, the actor has mentioned that he drew inspiration from his father to play the role of Kuttanpilla.
The core plot of Kuttanpillayude Sivarathri is centred around a series of events that occur in Kuttan Pillai’s house when his relatives – his children, their spouses and extended family – converge at his humble home to attend the annual Shiva Rathri festival. Biju Sopanam of ‘Uppum Mulakum’ fame and Srinda Arhaan play a couple in the movie. Mithun Ramesh, Srikant Murali, Kochu Preman, Poojappura Radhakrishnan, Rajesh Manarkad and James Eliyas are also part of the supporting cast.
