Mohanlal is the only action hero in Mollywood : Rajeev Pillai
Rajeev Pillai grabbed the attention of the Malayali audience through his power hitting in the Celebrity Cricket League (CCL).
He is one of the very few actors from the current generation in Mollywood, with a well built physique of an action hero. Sadly he has been part of only a very few movies.
The actor in a recent interview, shared his thoughts about the action movies in Mollywood. Rajeev Pillai was of the opinion that there are very action movies in our industry.
According to the actor, when compared with Hindi and Tamil movies the action sequences that we get to see in Malayalam cinema are still very amateurish.
“The actors in Malayalam film industry are not taking great efforts for action movies. They just perform whatever they can. But Mohanlal is different. Even at this age, he is putting in his maximum efforts for perfecting the action scenes.
No other actor is even close to Mohanlal in that regard. Great action movies will happen only when there is competition between various movies and the stars. I did not mean to hurt anyone by saying this”, said Rajeev Pillai.
The actor was last seen in Jude Anthany Josep’s Oru Muthassi Gadha in which he played a cameo as a boyfriend to Aparna Balamurali’s character.
He will be next seen in Mollywood’s first neo-noir psychological thriller Isabella directed by Mumbai based Malayali ad filmmaker Ajay Dhevaloka. The movie which also stars Shine Tom Chacko will have a time travel concept in it. Shoot for Isabella will start by January next year.
