One year long pre-production works planned for Jayasurya’s Kadamattathu Kathanar
We had earlier reported about Jayasurya starring in a big budget film based on the life of Kadamattathu Kathanar. Rojin Thomas, one of the directors of ‘Philips and the Monkey Pen’, will helming the film. It is scripted by R Ramanand and Vijay Babu of Friday Film House is producing it. The makers are currently busy with the pre-production works. In a recent interview, Vijay Babu revealed that it is a very ambitious project and pre-production itself will take up to one year.
Kadamattathu Kathanar is an 8th century priest from Kerala who is believed to have possessed supernatural powers. Jayasurya, who is known for doing a wide range of challenging roles, is expected to go through a complete transformation for playing the character of Kathanar.
Interestingly, the makers have planned it as a two-part fantasy thriller film and it will be shot in 3D format. If things out turn out as per plans, it will be the most expensive film in Jayasurya’s career. More details regarding the other cast and crew members and when shoot begins are expected to be announced in the coming months.
