Prithviraj’s Ezra nearing the 30 crore mark
Prithviraj’s latest release Ezra has entered it’s third week of theatrical run and is still unshaken in the box office. The office figures have only been soaring high thanks to the highly positive word of mouth. The initial pull has also helped the movie.
According to official reports from the makers, Ezra has grossed Rs 28.33 crores from it’s 23 days theatrical run in Kerala. It is closing in to the 30 crore mark. Ezra will be the third movie of the year to enter the 30 crore club after Dulquer Salmaan’s Jomonte Suvisheshangal and Mohanlal’s Munthirivallikal Thalirkkumbol.
Ezra opened to stunning response from the audience raking in a whopping Rs 2.65 crores on the opening day itself from around 125 screens in Kerala. It was released outside Kerala in 154 screens, marking the biggest ever release for a Malayalam movie outside the State. The movie was released in UAE in places like Dubai, Ajman, Abu Dhabi and Fujairah.
Ezra, directed by debutant Jay K, is the first of it’s kind horror thriller in Mollywood. The movie has a Jewish backdrop with the plot set in two timelines, spanning from the 1940s to 2016.
Brilliant technical values is the highlight of the movie. Ezra is regarded as one of the most technically superior movie ever in Mollywood. Sujith Vaassudev’s cinematography, Sushin Shyam’s background score and the chilling sound design enhanced the horror movie experience to a whole new level.
Popular South Indian actress Priya Anand made her Mollywood debut through this movie. Tovino Thomas, Sudev Nair, Babu Antony, Sujith Shankar, debutante Ann Sheetal, Tara Kalyan, Vijayaraghavan and Bharath Dabholkar have played supporting characters.
Mukesh R. Mehta, C. V. Sarathy and A. V. Anoop have jointly produced the movie under the banners of E4 Entertainment and AVA Productions.
