Here’s the teaser of Manikarnika: The Queen of Jhansi
Ever since the release of Baahubali, filmmakers across India are behind epic period flicks and the Kangana Ranaut starrer Manikarnika: The Queen of Jhansi is also one such film. It is an epic biopic based on the life of Rani Laxmibai of Jhansi. The movie is directed by Krish and scripted by KV Vijayendra Prasad, the writer of ‘Baahubali’ series.
Official teaser of the movie was released today in social medias. The teaser begins with a voice over by Amitabh Bachchan as he explains about how India was a successful nation till the Brtish invsion. Manikarnika, the queen of Jhansi decided to fight for her motherland. Kangana looks fierce as the sword wielding warrior in the teaser.
The two-time National award winning actress has put in lot of efforts to play the character of Rani Laxmi Bhai. She had underwent training in horse riding, sword fighting and basic martial arts. She even suffered a a cut on her forehead during a sword-fighting scene, which got her 15 stitches. Reportedly, Kangana refused to get it fixed by cosmetic surgery and flaunted it as it in the film.
Manikarnika stars TV actress Ankita Lokhande as Jhalkaribai. The movie has Atul Kulkarni as Tatya Tope, Suresh Oberoi in the role of Peshwa Bajirao and Jisshu Sengupta will essay the character of Gangadhar Rao. Jishu Sengupta, Danny Denzongappa, Zeeshan Ayub and many others are also part of the supporting cast.
Manikarnika: The Queen of Jhansi is scheduled to hit screens worldwide on 25th Jan 2019, a day before the Republic Day.
