Did Amitabh Bachchan received rupees 4 crore to sing National Anthem at Kolkata ?
Last Saturday, it was a big day for Indian cricket fans as the team India beat Pakistan at Twenty20 World cup match. It was at Eden Garden Kolkata and many legends from cricket and film field were present there. People like Sachin Tendulkar, Virender Sehwag, Imran Khan, Amitabh Bachchan were present there and Amitabh Bachchan had sung the National anthem before the game as well. But later a controversy sprouted up that Amitabh Bachchan had charged rupees 4 crore to be there and sing the national anthem.
It was spreading in social Media like wild fire as well.
Now Sourav Ganguly, the legendary cricket player who is from Kolkata as well said that it was all fake news that is spreading against Amitabh. He did not charged a single penny for coming there and singing national anthem to life up the spirit our team. He don’t even charged for his flight tickets and hotel bills as well. Ganguly is the president of Cricket association of Bengal and he said that Amitabh Bachchan had spent almost 30 lakh rupees from his own pocket to be there and sing the national anthem.
Ganguly said that even after persuading him to receive some money, he did not received that by saying he is doing these for love and not for money. He did such a wonderful and patriotic act and Ganguly reportedly said that he is grateful to Amitabh Bachchan eternally for his special presence and involvement there. He even got ready for a rehearsal for the show when the weather was not good there and there is no surety that the game would happen or not. His enthusiasm was unbelievable and for that we have to salute him. But what some people e doing is just insulting him by spreading fake news against him.
Indian had won the match yesterday quite comfortable in the presence of all those big names in India. The happiness of people like Amitabh Bachchan and Sachin Tendulkar was indeed great to see as well. Amitabh Bachchan had come with his son and popular actor Abhishek Bachchan to attend the event.
