Little chef’s twist of taste
Meet the young Nihal Raj, fondly called Kicha when at an age to dispense on blind man’s bluff and ball tag finds himself endorsing on his masterful craft on playing chef, thus earmarking him to earn a whooping amount of 2000 dollars from facebook which when converted becomes 1.5 lakh of Indian rupees. Kicha, who is also known as little chef is striding towards being a Master chef. The little chef owns a youtube channel called Kichatube and recently he sold the rights of his Mickey Mouse mango icecream video to a casting company for facebook. The video was taken for a new campaign by facebook named ‘Space for everyone’.
It is really amazing to see a child at such a tender age is marketing his creativity through the social media. His simple and playful presentation has gained him a lot of viewers for his youtube channel. He started his youtube channel on January 2015 and he has included recipes that children are fond of.
Kicha was a regular viewer of an American youtube channel which unboxed toys and it inspired him to do the same. But destiny brought him in to the world of flavours. Kicha’s ultimate dream is to visit America, the land of dreams with his own money earned through unboxing toys. Unboxing has become popular around the world and in this process new high-tech consumer products shall be bought by the owner, captures the process and upload it in to the web. Kicha is looking forward for toy manufacturers to approach him to unbox their new arrivals.
Kicha’s father Mr. Rajagopal Krishnan is the branch head of Central advertising firm and his mother Mrs. Ruby Rajagopal is a leading baker. He hails from Ernakulam and got fundamental cooking lessons from his mother, who is a professional in the same field. His elder sister Nidha extends a huge support to follow his dreams. When Kicha began to flare in cooking, a video was uploaded in facebook by his father and it was well received and this became a motivation to start a youtube channel.
Kicha’s youtube channel has twelve recipes like Mango cake, Baby Potatoes, Rainbow idlies, Easter eggs etc. His parents say that whenever they go to the restaurant Kicha shall head of to the kitchen and help the chefs to prepare the dish. Most chefs in the city are familiar with the little chef and he is learning different techniques of preparing unique dishes every day.
Nihal is the youngest Malayalee to gain such a huge remuneration from Facebook and he is a student of Choice school. No matter where his talents take him next, it’s clear that Kicha has a long and flavourful career ahead of him.
