Working with Mohanlal is the biggest attraction of Neerali, it’s a privilege acting with him: Nadiya Moidu
Recently, we had reported about Nadhiya Moidu being roped in as one of the female leads in Mohanlal’s upcoming movie Neerali. She is currently shooting in Mumbai for this movie directed by Ajoy Varma. Neerali marks Nadhiya’s comeback to the Malayalam film industry after a five year long gap. She was last seen in Shyamaprasad’s anthology film, English.
Incidentally, Nadhiya’s first ever movie Nokketha Doorathu Kannum Nattu, released in 1984, also had her paired opposite Mohanlal. She is now all excited about working with Mohanlal in her comeback movie as well. She is playing a very crucial role as Mohanlal’s wife in Neerali.
In a recent interview to TOI, when asked about the reason behind her signing for the movie, she said, “The biggest attractions, for me, were working with Lalettan and shooting in Mumbai, as I have never shot for any of my movies in my hometown. He is one of the most talented actors we have in India. It’s a privilege acting with him. He’s been a wonderful co-star and it’s nice that I have the opportunity to discuss with him what will work as he’s open to suggestions.”
Neerali, scripted by newcomer Saju is a thriller, set entirely outside Kerala. Parvatii Nair, Suraj Venjaramoodu, Dileesh Pothan and Sai Kumar are also part of the supporting cast. ‘Eega’ fame Kiccha Sudeep is said to be playing the villain’s role. The makers are also in talks with a leading actor from Bollywood to play a prominent part.
Santhosh Thundiyil is wielding the camera and Stephen Devassy is handling the music department. Director Ajoy Varma himself is editing the movie. Neerali is being produced by Santhosh T Kuruvilla’s Moonshot Entertainment, and co-produced by John Thomas and Mibu Jose Nettikdan.
