Tamil, Telugu and Hindi versions of Rajinikanth’s Kaala to release on the same day!
Putting an end to all the uncertainties, actor-producer Dhanush took to his official social media handle to announce that Rajinikanth’s Kaala will hit screens worldwide on June 7. The movie was initially slated for an April 27 release, but the two-month long TFPC strike meant that movies slated as summer releases had to be pushed further. Finally, after a few rounds of discussions it was decided that Kaala will release on June 7.
Interestingly, all three versions of the movie – Tamil, Telugu and Hindi – are releasing simultaneously on the same day. Generally, the dubbed versions are released a few weeks after the original. But a simultaneous release would ensure a massive opening for the movie worldwide.
Kaala marks the superstar’s reunion with Pa Ranjith after Kabali. The movie is basically a commercial gangster flick based in the Mumbai underworld. It is about a guy from Tirunelveli, who runs away in his childhood to Mumbai to become a powerful don living in the slums. Rajinikanth plays this character, Kaala, who heads the Tamil community in the slums of Dharavi.
Kaala has an ensemble supporting cast which includes several noted actors from North India. Bollywood actress Huma Qureshi is playing the female lead, but she is not paired opposite Rajinikanth. Multiple national award winner Nana Patekar is playing the powerful antagonist’s role. Pankaj Tripathi, Eeshwari Rao, Anjali Patil, Sayaji Shinde, Sakshi Agarwal, Samuthirakani, Sukanya, Ramesh Thilak and Sampath Raj are part of the supporting cast.
Rajinikanth’s son-in-law and actor Dhanush is producing Kaala under his banner Wunderbar Films Pvt Ltd. Sreekar Prasad is editing the movie and Pa Ranjith’s regular composer Santhosh Narayanan is handling the music department.
