Mahanati aka Nadigaiyar Thilagam (Tamil version) continues to get fabulous reviews from all corners. Social medias have been abuzz with talks about the movie and congratulatory posts for its makers. This Nag Ashwin directorial is the biopic on legendary actress Savitri. Celebrities across the South, including veteran filmmakers and actors, have been heaping praise on team Mahanati.
Recently, Mahanati’s lead actress Keerthy Suresh met Ulaganayagan Kamal Haasan to seek his blessings. Haasan also appreciated Keerthy for her performance in the movie. The actress shared a photo taken with him in her social media handle. She has written,

Kamal Haasan was very close to Savitri and interestingly his debut film ‘Kalathur Kannamma’ had Savitri and Gemini Ganesan in the lead. The movie enjoys a classic status among the Tamil cinema audience. It won the National Film Award for Best Feature Film in Tamil and also earned Kamal Haasan the President’s Gold Medal.

Mahanati follows Savitri’s life from the 1940s to 1980s. The story evolves as two journalists, played by Samantha and Vijay Deverakonda, set out to piece together the story of Savithri’s life. The cast also includes Naga Chaitanya, Shalini Pandey, Malavika Nair, Prakash Raj, Rajendra Prasad and Mohan Babu.
