I’ve introduced over 70 directors in my career: Mammootty
Mammootty is one of those rare superstars who has always been open to new filmmakers. While most of the big stars, be it any language, are comfortable doing films with established and successful directors, Mammootty has found a balance doing films with both experienced and fresh talents. In a recent interview, the actor proudly said that he has introduced over 70 directors in his three decade long career. Most of them went on to carve a niche for themselves in the industry.
Over the years, Mammootty has spotted many such talented directors like Lal Jose (Oru Maravathoor Kanavu), Blessy (Kaazhcha), Vysakh (Pokkiri Raja), Aashiq Abu (Daddy Cool), Anwar Rasheed (Rajamanikyam), Amal Neerad (Big B, Martin Prakkat (Best Actor) and Haneef Adeni (The Great Father).
Mammootty is currently on a high with the release of his much-awaited Peranbu. After getting screened in various international film festivals, the Ram directorial finally got released in theatres last day and has opened to excellent response in Kerala. With the positive word of mouth in social medias and the support of family audience, Peranbu is expected to have a good run in the coming days as well.
