Vijay Sethupathi gifts a building constructed for shooting to farmer’s union
We had recently reported about Vijay Sethupathi starring in a new Tamil film titled ‘Laabam’. The movie directed by National award winner SP Jhananathan has Shruthi Haasan as the female lead. Vijay Sethupathi plays a character named Pakkiri, the leader of farmers association. Shruti Haasan plays the character of Sriranjani, a singer who travels to different places and educate people.
The makers of ‘Laabam’ had planned shooting in Peruvayal village, and several sequences required a Farmers union office. Vijay Sethupathi reportedly suggested the team to construct a real building instead of an artificial, and later gifted the building to the farmers of Peruvayal.
‘Laabam also stars Kalaiyarasan in a prominent supporting role and Jagapathi Babu will be seen as the villain. Director SP Jhananathan is noted for his films like ‘Iyarkai’ and ‘Peranmai’. He has previously worked with Vijay Sethupathi in ‘Purampokku Engira Pothuvudamai’, which also had Arya in a major role. ‘Laabam’ looks very promising with a strong cast and crew.
