Vijay Sethupathi opts out of Allu Arjun’s Pushpa!
Telugu industry’s hit maker Sukumar had roped in Allu Arjun and Vijay Sethupathi for his new film ‘Pushpa’. The film’s first look poster that had Allu Arjun in a rugged, local look had grabbed attention. The fact that two big stars like Vijay Sethupathi and Allu Arjun were acting together for the first time had raised a lot of expectations on the film.
However, due to the unexpected Covid-19 crisis and following date issues, Vijay Sethupathi has now pulled out of the project. The actor himself revealed in a recent interaction that he is no longer associated with the project. He had personally met director Sukumar and conveyed about his busy schedule that forced him to opt out.
It is said that ‘Pushpa’ revolves around the smuggling of red sanders in the Tamil Nadu-Andhra Pradesh border. Unconfirmed reports suggest that the film has Allu Arjun playing a lorry driver and Vijay Sethupathi was supposed to essay the role of a forest officer. With the latter opting out, it remains to be seen who the makers rope in as a replacement.
‘Pushpa’ has Rashmika Mandanna as the heroine. Prakash Raj, Jagapati Babu, Harish Uthaman, Vennela Kishore, Anasuya Bharadwaj, Anish Kuruvilla and many others are part of the supporting cast. Devi Sri Prasad is composing the music and Polish cameraman Miroslaw Kuba Brozek handles the camera. As per the makers, the movie will be releasing in Telugu, Hindi, Tamil, Malayalam and Kannada.
