Alia Bhatt joins the cast of SS Rajamouli’s RRR
Bollywood actress Alia Bhatt has finally joined the cast of SS Rajamouli’s upcoming biggie ‘RRR’. The period flick made on a massive budget is about two freedom fighters, Alluri Sitarama Raju and Komaram Bheem who fought against the British Raj and the Nizam of Hyderabad, respectively. Jr NTR and Ram Charan play the two lead roles. While Jr NTR essays Komaram Bheem’s role, Ram Charan plays the part of Alluri Sitarama Raju. Details regarding Alia’s role are not yet known.
In an earlier interview with PTI, the actress had revealed that she literally begged SS Rajamouli to cast her in the film. She is quoted saying, “I had bumped into Rajamouli sir at an airport and I begged him that whatever part he has for me, I will do it. That time he had not cast for the girl yet. He said he was anyway talking about my timelines. So I told him whatever be the timelines, I will make it happen. We made it happen.”
Bollywood superstar Ajay Devgn, Olivia Morris, Ray Stevenson, Alison Doody, Samuthirakani and many others are part of the film. SS Rajamouli’s father KV Vijayendra Prasad has written the story of ‘RRR’. Rajamouli has penned the screenplay and dialogues are by Sai Madhav Burra and Madhan Karky. The film is being made in various languages on a budget of over Rs 400 crores.
