Mohanlal to Star in TK Rajeev Kumar’s Art House Film Based on Kerala Folklore

Mollywood Legend Mohanlal is set to collaborate again with director TK Rajeev Kumar for an upcoming project that promises to delve deep into Kerala folklore. Known for their successful past ventures like Pavithram and Thacholi Varghese Chekavar, this new film will depart from commercial cinema, focusing instead on art house aesthetics and cultural storytelling.

The film, set to commence production in Alappuzha next year, marks a significant shift for both Mohanlal and TK Rajeev Kumar. Rajeev Kumar, who is currently assisting the actor in his directorial debut, Barroz 3D, brings a wealth of experience in visual storytelling and innovative filmmaking techniques. His storied career includes being part of India’s first 3D film, My Dear Kuttichathan.

Renowned composer Sharreth will be adding his musical expertise to the project, promising a rich auditory experience to complement the narrative depth of the film. The decision to explore Kerala folklore suggests a thematic richness that aims to resonate deeply with audiences who appreciate cultural narratives.

Fans of Mohanlal and enthusiasts of meaningful cinema can look forward to this collaboration, which is expected to bring together the actor’s prowess and Rajeev Kumar’s directorial vision in a compelling exploration of Kerala’s rich cultural heritage.
